MVC Kids Dinner Gala: Put on by Hope 4 MVC Kids. May 23, 2015

Join us for a night of dining, dancing and death! Murder on the S.S. Hope is a murder mystery dinner gala featuring a great entertainment company from Calgary with amazing reviews putting on a never before seen murder mystery. Amazing food, fabulous music and the best part of this great night out is the feel good factor! You can make a difference in local children’s lives. What could be better? Olds Farmers Market: May 28th, 2015 and every Thursday afterwards. Hosted by Olds Regional Exhibition

Vendors offer unique items including sewing, knitting, baking, woodworking, fruits, vegetables, and numerous other items under the Cow Palace roof, as well as an amazing outdoor market that has grown to be one of the favourites in the area. The 2015 Farmers Markets in Olds run from May 28th to October 8th. Spring markets are held in the foyer of the Cow Palace, expanding to include the parking area surrounding the Cow Palace during the summer. Markets run from 3:30 – 6:30 pm on Thursdays. Race for Kids: June 6th, 2015 Hosted by Boys and Girls Club of Olds

Capital One Race for Kids™. Funds raised will go directly back into the community of Olds as we can continue offering the types of programs our young people need the most. Canadian National Soaring Competition: June 10-19th, 2015 at the Netook Gliding Centre

It is being hosted by the Central Alberta Gliding Club from Innisfail. There will be at least 25-35 gliders being launched around noon every day (weather permitting) and returning around 4-8 PM from flying 250-500 km without landing, using only warm columns of air (thermals) as fuel. Expecting around 100 people in all: pilots and crew from all across Canada, volunteers from some of the Alberta gliding clubs and the local Air Cadet squadrons. There will be an area for public viewing.

Johnson MS Bike Tour: June 13,2015 Hosted by MS Society

Spend a weekend with friends and family while challenging yourself and raising money to help End MS! Beginning in Airdrie, you will cycle 80km along scenic roads to Olds. Along the way, rest stops with water, snacks, first aid, and mechanical support will be provided. Upon arriving in Olds, enjoy a massage, dinner, beer gardens, and dancing to celebrate the completion of Day One! After resting in Olds College dorms or camping onsite, start Day Two with a hearty breakfast. Push yourself to the limits by cycling another 80km back to Airdrie, where you will enjoy a finish-line BBQ with other participants, volunteers, and supporters. Strut Your Mutt: June 14th, 2015 Hosted by Wild Rose Humane Society

Strut your Mutt is a leisurely walk or run through the beautiful Olds College Campus. The walk is followed by a festival for all things dog and their families! Communities in Bloom kick-off and Council & town staff barrel planting contest (2015 date TBD):

Mayor Judy Dahl, Members of Council and town employees. Come watch the barrel planting and enjoy a free lunch. Barrels are numbered and the public is encourage to vote throughout the summer on their favourite barrel. The winners are announced at the end of August.

From late June through the Labor Day long weekend, you can stroll through the shopping district of Uptowne Olds to view the amazing talents of local artists.
