The Olds Connected Community Committee is committed to raising the “culture of use” in our community both for our general citizens and for business. We recognize that the future in retail and service business is going “virtual” and for our community of businesses to remain successful, we must embrace new technology and models. Other projects include Cyber-Seniors, web presence surveys in the business community, and Champions of Technology.

We are looking for energetic people of all ages who have ideas to engage the community in use of technology, be it broadband, virtual or augmented reality, robotics or any other experientially based activities that enhances, eases or enriches the quality of life in the community.

Meetings are every third Thursday evening at the Olds Information and Entrepreneurship Centre at 5201 – 51 Street (across from the Post Office). For more information please call 403-556-1105 or email office@oldsinstitute.com

We have lodges located in Carstairs, Didsbury, Olds and Sundre, and are looking for positive, caring and reliable volunteers for:

– Friendly Visiting (one on one or group settings)

– Recreational Activities, including community outings, baking and gardening

– Music and Entertainment

– Bible Study Leaders

We bring communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable home ownership. Habitat Southern Alberta is a member of Habitat for Humanity Canada, and part of a world wide network that spans 93 countries and has built over    500 000 homes. 

Our Chapter is looking for local champions, Chapter volunteers who care deeply about helping local families build long-term stability through affordable home ownership.

We meet once a month, and volunteers are welcome to take on both active and supporting roles for whatever period or time suits them best.
